Wash and Go Routine feat. Kinky Curly Custard +ALOE VERA!

NEVER in a million years did I think I would complete a SUCCESSFUL wash and go on MY 4C textured hair. I've only done like two (wash and gos) since I have been natural because they ALWAYS come out janky and hot frizzy mess.....Buuuuuut not this time. My sister introduced me to Kinky Curly Custard and needless to say, this product got my ENTIRE head together!!

The last time I did a wash and go I used the "toxic" Eco Styler Gel and that was a hot MESS. The gel did not mix well with the Shea Moisture moisturizer and coconut oil that I used. Also, I used waaayyy too much product and not enough water...Girl, it was just a mess.

This time around, I wanted to incorporate natural (aka grown out of the Earth) products. I used my go-to and FAITHFUL Aloe Vera gel as a leave in and Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Peep how I completed my wash and go below:

  • Start your wash and go with fresh (clean) hair. *This is the most important step; it will determine how well your wash and go products will take to your hair.*
  • Section the hair off and finger de-tangle as needed.
  • Generously spray hair with WARM water (low porosity tip) to prep it for the Aloe Vera gel.
  • Take your aloe slices (gel side) and smooth the gel onto your scalp and body of your hair (click for aloe vera benefits).
  • Be sure to WORK the aloe vera gel into your strands and don't forget your ends! They need the most lovin'
  • Next apply your oil of choice (my go-to is extra virgin olive oil) onto your scalp as well as the body of your hair to help moisturize and lock in moisture.
  • Work that oil in Honeyy and coat your hair with MORE  warm water.
  • Next, apply the Kinky Curly Curl Custard (try saying that five times fast lol) to your ends first, then work it into the body of your hair using the "raking method". *Note: a little goes a LONG way with the curl custard, trust me*
  • Repeat this process until your entire head is finished, then dry your hair (using your method of choice) and style!
I let my hair air-dry for about an hour, then I used a blow dryer (with a blow dryer diffuser attachment) to dry my roots.
Day 3 Curls!

While drying, the product did leave my hair EXTREMELY moisturized, but it also had a slight sticky feel. My curls dried to a beautiful finish and the sticky feeling diminished, leaving my hair full of curls and bounce!

No white residue and NO crunchy feeling. Ms. Kinky Curly Custard + Aloe Vera made this wash and go BEYOND successful. I highly recommend this product ESPECIALLY for us 4C beauties like me that can use some help with the curl poppage.

Texture ID...ENTIRE Line - Honest Review

I literally just want to dive right into this review and I will try my absolute hardest to not be long-winded (lol). I had the honor to try the entire Texture ID product line by Sally Beauty. I won them through a giveaway my homie/hair product-plug was hosting. The entire Texture ID line is made with four essential ingredients ( honey, aloe vera, protein, and nutrient rich oils) that are supposed to lock in moisture as well as provide intense definition. Listed below are each of the products from the Texture ID line as well as my initial thoughts. I will also let you know if I recommend the product or not and why I do (or don't recommend lol). Let's get into it.... Texture ID: Curl Clarifying Shampoo  - Rating: 6/10 The shampoo is very light almost too light for my hair, but it lathers well. I love the scent; it's not too heavy but it is also very light almost like a dryer sheet cotton-like scent. The product claims to not strip your hair of natural oils, b...

You gotta dig

I am indirectly--directly starting my 2018 in September. I think it is more than fair to say the last eight months have been a bust for me. I have missed so many deadlines and goals--I can't keep up. Something in me knew I would have a late start this year, but I didn't know this late. But It's fine guys--I'm not throwing a pity party. Honestly, the only thing I know how to do is keep going. I just needed to humble myself and my life is doing that now. Either way I am grateful. All these lessons I am learning shapes me; makes become more of a boss. On a lighter note. I have some reviews coming out SOON on a few BLACK OWNED natural hair care products! I'm stupid excited because I get to put my social media marketing skills to the test.  This natural world can open a lot of doors if you remain AUTHENTICALLY you. Restarting my natural hair journey for me has been a helluva ride. I found myself finding myself through this entire process and it's really amazing...

Mielle Organics Babassu Oil & Mint Deep Conditioner REVIEW...OMG

Wash day this week was very SUCCESSFUL! I used many products (this was a first for me) but the Star of this week was Mielle Organics Babassu Oil & Mint Deep Conditioner . This product was designed to restore your [heat] damaged or dry ends by bringing protein and moisture to each strand. I began wash-day by washing and conditioning my hair with Aussie Mega Moist Shampoo & Conditioner . I normally section my hair in six to eight sections so that the products can really penetrate my scalp. While washing/conditioning, I primarily focus on just cleansing my scalp as I allow the shampoo and conditioner to flow freely into the body of my hair. I have low-porosity hair, so I have to take extra time to make sure the water and product really saturates my hair. Knowing your hair's porosity can eliminate a lot of time and save a shit ton of money when using/buying the right hair products. After washing and conditioning my hair, I sectioned my hair and applied a generous...
